Health and Strength Action Group

The Health and Strength Action Group is a group of local community members working with South Riverdale Community Health Centre on issues of poverty and health. We are part of a growing number of people across Toronto and across Ontario who are organizing in their local communities to raise social assistance rates (Ontario Works/welfare and Ontario Disability Support Program) and to make the TTC affordable.

Every one of us can do something to help address poverty issues. We have ideas, tools and passion. Join us to help build our collective power to make change and to make real progress on these issues. Call Susan Bender 416-461-1925 ext 353 or email We hold regular meetings, offer workshops, organize events, participate in creative lobbying activities and do outreach. No experience necessary.
