TotalHype Newsletter

TotalHYPE is a bi-monthly newsletter put together by COUNTERfit Harm Reduction Program, a program at South Riverdale Community Health Centre. TotalHYPE is dedicated to harm reduction information and other information of interest to drug users. We are strict about publishing harm reduction based information because we believe drug users are often silenced. We want TotalHYPE to be a space that is respectful of people’s rights to use drugs without judgement or discrimination. This means information that is not Harm Reduction respectful may NOT be published.
This is the sixth year (2014) that TotalHYPE has been published. The number of copies we distribute continues to rise. For the past 2 years, we have been publishing TotalHYPE on a bi-monthly basis to help staff manage the workload and the costs of publishing and printing.
We will continue mailing TotalHYPE to people who are in Canadian prisons and various programs in Toronto who have requested copies. The content of TotalHYPE is approved by our program; and is not intended to be offensive to anyone. If TotalHYPE is confiscated at a prison, we request that the prisoner not be held responsible for the content. Recipients cannot know what the content of each edition will include. Having said that, we hope that TotalHYPE will serve as an educational tool and as a means of giving voice to drug users and drug user rights.
