The MATCH (Midwifery and Toronto Community Health) Program offers a wide variety of services related to well-gynecological and pregnancy care:
- Pregnancy, labour and birth, and postpartum care for infants and adults (including infants born by surrogacy to LGBTQ+ families)
- Medication abortion care until 11 weeks
- Miscarriage care with medications until 13 weeks
- Abortion care navigation to any gestation
Our care is free if you live in Ontario, even if you don’t have OHIP (provincial health insurance).
The MATCH team is made up of six midwives and one social worker. Our social worker can support clients in care with case management, housing support, crisis intervention, one-on-one counselling, resource navigation and assistance acquiring necessary supplies related to pregnancy and parenting.
For pregnancy care clients, our program can care for people living in East Toronto and West Scarborough. Labour and birth care is provided at Michael Garron Hospital, the Toronto Birth Centre, or at home. For abortion care, our program can care for people living anywhere in the Greater Toronto area.
The midwives on our team speak English, Cantonese, French, Tagalog and Gujarati and we can arrange an interpreter for any other language needs for appointments. We provide 24h on-call care.
CLIENTS Requesting Care:
To seek care with our team, please call (416) 461-2493 during business hours. A telephone intake will be completed by our clinic staff. Please do not email your request for care. Only if you do not have access to a phone you may email us at [email protected] to request care.
Referrals are reviewed according to urgency, and we will respond to you within one week.
For abortion care, we do have a wait-list for our services and cannot accommodate same-day service. We prioritize referrals from people who do not have OHIP or IFHP. Click here for a list of other abortion care options you can contact in or near Toronto; some of these services may be able to accommodate same-day referrals.
