South Riverdale Community Health Centre is a non-profit, multi-service organization that provides primary healthcare, social and community outreach services with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention primarily to people of East Toronto. Pending funding from the Canada Summer Jobs Program with Employment and Social Development Canada, SRCHC is looking to fill four (4) summer youth positions as follows:
• Health Information Clerk
• Community Service Worker
• Community Worker 1
• Community Worker 2
These positions are expected to work onsite.

General responsibilities for all positions:
• Assist with SRCHC’s client engagement survey; connect with clients via phone, social media, Zoom or other virtual platforms; engage with clients accessing services; collection and analysis of qualitative data, reporting
• Assist community groups in organizing and facilitating health and community projects including programs focused on food security and environmental health
• Assist with community outreach and publicity campaigns including social media, delivery and promotion of summer projects and events
• Develop or update promotional materials including information boards, newsletters and flyers
• Provide administrative assistance to staff and programs i.e. data entry
• Assist in the day-to-day activities of the Health Centre
• All other duties as required
Additional responsibilities specific to Health Information Clerk:
• Work with staff to plan SRCHC’s annual client engagement survey; lead and promote the client engagement survey, conduct interviews with clients; data input and analysis of qualitative data
Additional responsibilities specific to Community Service Worker:
• Support the roll out of SRCHC’s client survey
• Conduct outreach and publicity campaigns
• Assist with health promotion programs and delivery and programming focused on food security and food access
• Support the development and updating of program resource lists
Additional responsibilities specific to Community Worker 1:
• Assist with client reminder calls, client chart filing and maintenance
• Assist with work involving food access, i.e. participating with meal preparation, meal program distribution, the Good Food Market
• Support the development and updating of program resource lists
Additional responsibilities specific to Community Worker 2:
• Assist in the development of food access plans and programs, assist in programming focused on food security
• Contact and liaise with community members to promote, support and assist with the community gardens and the weekly Good Food market
• Assist with work involving food access, i.e. participating with meal preparation, meal program distribution, the Good Food Market
• Support the development and updating of program resource lists
Qualifications:
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
• Post-secondary education preferred, in the field of social work, social service, or health-related studies
• Strong research, evaluation and analytical skills
• Proficiency in the use of computer technology and various software applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Interest in community health and working with marginalized groups
• Interest in food security and food access
• Ability to work in a team environment with diverse communities
• Respect for diversity, equity, anti-racism and accessibility with the ability to work collaboratively and positively with others
• Police clearance documentation will be required for employment
• Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination status will be required for employment
