The Women’s Harm Reduction Program is a trans-inclusive, sex-work positive program for all women who use drugs.
The program arose from a recognized community need for specialized, trauma-informed, community building support for women who use drugs, to provide:
- a safe space for open discussion
- a foundation to build communities of support
- access to health care
- engagement in harm reduction education
- employment and training opportunities
Weekly programs may include:
- candle making
- photography
- tie-dye
- educational speakers (Hep C Nurse, Women’s Health in Women’s Hands, etc)
The main access point for new members is through the Women’s Harm Reduction Drop-In which takes place every Tuesday morning from 9:30- 11:30a.m. The group comes together to enjoy a light breakfast, group based activities, education, and discussion groups. Group participants also have the opportunity to access health care via a nurse practitioner and a client care coordinator to provide wrap-around clinical and mental health supports.
There is no registration required and the drop-in is open to cis and trans women, 2Spirit, and non-binary folks who use drugs and/or have experience with sex work.
